At our September 18 check, Google’s model directory listed Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro, and Nano Banana 2 Lite. We did not find a listing there for the rumored name. Treat the report as a reason to save an evaluation brief, not as a production dependency. There is no verified release schedule, specification sheet, or speed comparison to plan around here.

Google’s image-generation guide positions Nano Banana 2 as the general-purpose choice and Pro for complex professional work. It describes Lite as the efficiency specialist and explicitly says Lite is not optimized for multiple reference inputs or sequential editing across turns. A workflow you can start now: one product, three shots

Use an unbranded amber perfume bottle as a small campaign exercise. The deliverables are one hero still, three approved storyboard frames, and one motion test. This keeps the experiment bounded while producing reusable material.

1. Lock the brief and references. Photograph or choose a product reference you have permission to use. Define bottle shape, cap, glass color, background, lighting direction, and delivery ratio. Plan three shots: a wide introduction, a close-up, and a final hero composition. Write down the elements that must not change.

2. Make the master still. Open Nano Banana 2 in SuperMaker and choose Image to Image for a reference-led task. A starting prompt is:
